This tip is from an Anyboard admin
http://www.anyboard.net/netbula/support/posts/11183.shtml About posting messages on previous pages and having them appear at the bottom of the current page: with other message boards, our active threads were dying when they moved to the next page because people didn't know when a new message was posted to those threads, and it was really frustrating to everyone. Because of this problem, I intentionally set the current Russian Friends message board up so that new posts to old threads would appear on the current page. If you wanted your threads to stay together on the same page, all you would need to do would be to uncheck "Put new followups of messages on previous page at the end" and then check "Always show the whole thread" in the Style section. Your other question about getting back to the current page with it reloaded after posting a message surprised me because I spent a lot of time figuring out how to do this on Russian Friends, but for some reason, you weren't able to get it to work for you. When you post a message to Russian Friends, whether it is a new message or a follow-up, you are taken to a page that thanks you for posting your message, and at the bottom of that page, there are three buttons: one to go to your message, one to edit your message, and one that simply says "Russian Friends." If you click on the last button, it should take you to the current page, all reloaded with your new message showing. I wonder if you were using the "Back" button on your browser to get back to the main page because that is the only way that I know of to get to it without it reloading. We were getting very frustrated with needing to hit the "Reload" button so often, so I added to the forum header area in the Presentation section, and no one has complained since I added it. I think that you will find that you will be able to cutomize your new forum to your satisfaction because there are many options with Anyboard. I am still working on making Russian Friends more pleasant as I find free time to work on it, and I have been very pleased with the customizable options with Anyboard. |

The previous message should have said "...so I added <META HTTP-EQUIV="expires" CONTENT="0"> to the forum
header area in the Presentation section..." The html didn't show up as regular text in the previous message. Michelle Related link: Russian Friends |
