I'm looking at upgrading our script to the 6.9.7 and was wondering how to make the change go as smoothly as possible. I'll follow the instructions in the "how-to" file (writing down the variables for the listed lines) and then I'll upload the files to the proper directory. I'm assuming if I do it that way I won't overwrite my current settings? I'll also (before any uploads) download all the files on the server to make sure I have a backup of everything. Thanks, Christopher

In theory, the only thing you need to do is replace the script. The existing forum will run without any intteruption. However, sometimes, there is some incompatibilities due to accidental change of the names of configuration parameters, etc. We work hard to make sure the new version is backward compatible, but it is always wise to be prudent, make a copy of your .forum_cfg file and the existing script. In any case, Anyboard won't do anything drastic, such as deleting posts.
