I am having a hard time figuring out a solution to a problem that some of my users are having, so I was hoping that perhaps one of you would be able to offer me a great suggestion. I have my forum set up so that threads with new messages move to the top of the page, but I have been having a few complaints that new threads are getting lost when someone replies to a large, older thread after the new thread is posted because people don't see the small new thread underneath all of the other messages. I like having the new messages move to the top of the page, so I have been trying to find a solution to this. I tried collapsing the threads, but I want the newest messages to be visible without having to click on the top message of the thread. Is there anyway to collapse the oldest messages in a thread while leaving the newer ones visible? Maybe something like when part of a thread moves off the page and the thread starts out with "top of thread" followed by "original message" then the new message? I would really appreciate any suggestions! Thanks!
