Determining ownership of files and permission problems

On some servers, depending on how they are set up, you may not be able to set or change permissions on files that Anyboard creates. You may notice it when you try to chmod and set permissions on files and are unable to do so. In order to determine if you have ownership, use the following command

to the usual admin forum log in, use

?cmd=sinfo&all=1

It will display important information

If it shows "nobody" for the CGI user, or "Not owned by CGI user!" under comments, then you don't have ownership of those items.

If you are not sure how to do it, click on the Admin link in from the nav bar. When you get the admin log in screen, replace everything from the question mark ? forward with the above command. That will do it.
