Hi Janet, It's all speculation on my part based on my non-fiction and fictional readings about germs and chems, etc. They haven't been able to identify the bug yet (according to news reports) using all the resources of the WHO and CDC who have electon miscroscopes, for instance. But it's not any atypical pneumonia bug they've seen before. I'm sure the CDC experts on infectious diseases are working hard to find patient zero--it's what they love to do and hopefully they have the resources ($$$) to pursue this quickly (the feds have consistently cut funding to the CDC in recent years). Btw, I also remember when the AIDs patient zero was found. I don't think, however, that it's the Canadian people because the disease turned up before they went to Asia. The Canadians did stop in Atlanta, ironically, for business dealings while they carried the bug. Also a doctor who has it now had been in Asia and caught it from someone when he examined them and when he returned to the states he attended a medical conference in NYC. This is the perfect senario for spreading an airborne disease--urban areas--terrorist or not. But, I'm not immune to exposure either, because I live in a town where many New York tourists, and other south of the Vermont border tourists travel to ski. Just a walk through the grocery store could do it for me. They're here in abundance this weekend and will also be here for the next few weekends because the temps have risen and the ski area is jammin'.
