Every weekend the 10:00 weatherman shows pictures that people send in. Tonight my picture was on the news!
The sun has already set and the sun's rays are reflecting off the ice crystals in the air and it creates a pillar. It's akin to sundogs.
Speaking of weather--we're having double digit temps for the next 5 days--woo hoo! We haven't had more than 2 consecutive days of double digit (at least above 0º) fo probably 3 months! I cannot tell you how cold this winter
has been.
Even though we've only had about 1/3 the snow that
we did in '97 (the record setting year), the snow in our yard is almost
as deep as it was in '97 because nothing has melted all winter long.
The trellis in the background is 8ft tall, so you can see that this drift is about 5ft deep, even taller in the back row of trees.
And you can tell how much dh is enjoying this season (this is the "canyon" of snow in our driveway.)
